Monit digi Vs. Zoas...Unexpected results

An orange digi and some type of orange zoas have been growing closer and closer. I thought I'd have to intervene and pull some zoas.

But to my surprise the digi has grown right over the zoas! Its grown over 6 or so zoa polyps in the last two weeks. Now there are little bumps where the digi has covered the zoa polyps.

I thought the zoas would be the winner in this battle.

Very interesting. I'd have bet on the zoas, too. But I have a digi that has held its own creditably against a torch...so they've sure got something. (I did separate those two, for the good of both.)

Wow, thats a bit of a surprise indeed. Any chance to see a picture of the monti where it covered the zoas?

I had an Acro (A. microphthalma) vs zoa battle before and it was pretty much a stalemate.

I was surprised to see the digi grow over the zoas.

I would have lost a bet on this one though.

A digi holding its own against a torch...now that's amazing.

I just noticed today that my sunset monti is growing over zoas as well.

Pretty crazy!!

But I have a red digi with zoas growing on it!!!

It's a crazy coral world LOL!!!!

Here's a picture. The MH's were off so it looks quite blue but you can still see some bumps where the Monti has covered some zoa polyps.

I'm not sure how I can separate these two except for trying to remove or just killing some of the nearby zoa polyps. But for now there seems to be no ill effects.
