I don't think I will ever spend the $8000 to calibrate the monitor but I like the results of the my latest toy. Since I am far from professional I think it will serve my needs in the meantime . Thanks for the professional grade equipment suggestion though.
The $1800 C-5 unit is the one that serious users should be looking at (and Cliff may even be willing to work a deal on the price)... the $8000 unit is for Pros and those who are selling high end callibration services to Pros and high end HT owners. Even $1000 is going to be a hard sell to all but the most hardcore hobbiests.
The only reason I posted in detail was because this is an area I have expertise in and you (or somebody) mentioned very odd "blue" results after callibration with the Spyder (or similar sensor).
I am glad that you were able to get acceptable results with your new toy. You still may want to check out the HFCR software... It is free and I am pretty sure it will accept your sensro. You may find it better than the canned software (and also useful for your TV, etc).
