Monks 55g Macro Display (Pic Heavy)

Eucheuma only stays yellow at colder temperatures. It turns orange/red at typical reef temps.

I would like to get it for my seahorse tank, the temp usually stays around 73, is that cold enough or to warm for that macro to stay yellow?

I did a little looking around on the net, and it seems that 70-74 degrees is ideal for Eucheuma.

Does that sound about right to you dJkms?

Eucheuma is actually commercially produced for the food industry.

Very cool! I have only seen this done a couple of times before - similar to a FW planted tank. There was a guy here in San Diego that had a 100gallon Seahorse planted tank.... (but yours looks a little better!)

Update - Ive taken the tank down and transfered everything to a 46g bowfront tank. I have sold off most of the fish. Put my clown and royal gramma in my 20g. Most of the coral is being sold as well.

The plan is to make the 46 a planted seahorse tank! Im going to keep a couple corals such as mushrooms, rics and my gorgs in the tank. The rest has to go. Everything is doing good atm. I couldnt believe how much rock I actually had in the 40b lol. I had to put some in the 20 and some in a 10g and I still have to much in the 46g lol

Pics and updates to come in the next couple days!!

Actually I think I will start a new thread for the tank soon.

Some new additions, Ill be making a new thread soon for the new tank. Couple pics till then.

Just wanted to say "Very nice" love the natural feel to the tank, and your diversity of plant life is awesome. You have very much sparked my interest in keeping a dt of macro algae.

I hope to see more pictures as the tank fills in.
Great work, Cheers.

Well I had to take this tank down a while ago, had a lot of other things that were to time consuming and couldnt keep it up.

Wish I wouldn't of now lol. Anyways I am getting a tank an established 150g from a friend on Sunday which am going to break down into a few smaller tanks. I just dont trust 150g on my floor (no basement) So ill be making a new macro tank with a new thread Very soon, I cant wait :)
