Monks 55g Macro Display (Pic Heavy)

55g to 40b swap O_O

55g to 40b swap O_O

So I switched everything to the 40b Tuesday. The 55 was getting old had scratches cracked plastic and was ready to retire lol.

Everything went pretty smooth, except I could not find the Candy pistol shrimp. Everything was out of the tank and into the new. I was hoping he was in a rock somewhere and got transfured in along with it. Well I picked up a 5 gallon bucket and was going to rinse it out when I looked down in the bottom and he was flapping around lol. Got him in the tank and the gobly found em within minutes for a big heart felt reunion :P

I built a Gu10 LED setup from tinygiants thread found here: Tinygiants Gu10 LED Thread

Ok so gonna dump some pics of the new setup O_O

nice transfer, glad it went well for you. I like the 40br BUT it making want mine up and running. haha oh well gotta QT the fish it 1st.

looking good plz keep us posted.

Thanks :D Im thinking of starting a new thread since its a new tank and I cant edit my first post :(

Either way I will post up some new pics later tongiht if I get the chance.

The transfer went really well. The tank didnt cloud at all and everything handled it very well and opened up soon after. So far the Coral are loving the new lights. Im hoping that the Macros can handle the LEDs, guess ill find out!!

Nice video. Hehe, I gotta mount my monitpora in my 8g pico, it's still acclimating on the bottom of my tank. I didn't want to bleach it with my MH.

I'm going to do some shifting about in my biotope. :D

Thanks, I was a little worried about the Monti's but they are doing great in the leds, no bleaching and seem to be alot happier then with the t5ho's I had. Ill be waiting for your updates to see the "shifting" you do :D

great vid monk! of course now i have to go out and purchanse some black mollies...:)

:D The Molly's are doing great, the 2 adults where actually mating a couple days ago. lol fish porn O_o Im just hoping I dont have 50 babies swimming around in a couple months.

How'd the leds work for you? what plan did you end up using? Going to be doing the same gu10's for my 40b too..

I did 2 rows of 16 alternating Blue/white. Each row 3" from the center so they are 6" apart. In the pics I havent got them all in yet. Putting more in slowly

They seem to be working great. I have growth on some macros, and all the coral are extending and seem happy. The Monti caps look healthier tbh.

Great idea!

Very cool

Thanks!!

Ok new update, Lemon Peel had to be traded in. Was nipping coral and destroyed my nemostoma. Thats what I get for trying :deadhorse:

Anyways things are going great in the new tank and the macro has finally adjusted to the new lighting and is starting to grow out :celeb2:

Im not sure about my aquascape yet. I may end up changing some things.
