to sum it up though, it's way too new and the price tag is going to be over four figures; Carolina Aquatics has exclusive distribution rights so your LFS would have to go through them to get one.

I think Carolina Aquatics will regret paying whatever the cost was for that right, since the cost will quickly plummet after a few months at most just like the blue chins did. They are still obtainable thru other means but you will pay much more than you will thru Carolina because of minimum box, shipping, importing and documentation fees plus eat whatever fish die on the 3-4 day trip to you. Cool wrasse for sure, but being the first isn't always the best when it comes to your wallet:D

Wholesale is $1500 plus shipping on pairs.

Geeze, for that price you'd want to be a keen wrasse junky.

Fwiw theres only one collector working that part of the Timor sea. If that continues don't expect the price to drop anytime soon, as the collector will almost certainly restrict international availability to maintain his high wholesale pricing.

A bit like the C. squirei which is apparently not that rare in its Coral Sea locality, but the collector only offers it in dribs and drabs to the market place.

They're called fish hoarders where they think it's so special it's not even worth selling until they realize they really can't sell it and then by that time it's worthless lol

On a side note the blue chins got over saturated way too fast so there is a happy medium somewhere that needs to be met.

This fairy in my opinion is not that nice and way over priced plus like evolved said it's got the aggressive nature in it.
