Montepora bleeching or something else?

My red Monte plate colony seems to be turning lighter all over. Almost the exact color as Coraline algae. Is this early stages of bleeching or possibly even growth? It's happening slowly. At first it was small patches, now it's all spread out. It was mounted fairly high up in the tank for about 3 months, no problems but under direct light. I just moved it down far away from direct lighting.

I believe you're right. Just not sure if it will die or not.
I had once a similar issue but the monti has become greyish overall. After a few months it started to recover but with a green-grey color.

My monti caps will fade/turn greyish if there's a large enough Alk swing. It's actually a pretty good indicator something is off, first to show any signs and recovers super fast once corrected.
