Montgomery Frag Swap

Well, you had to know it would happen. We're working on getting a club going and trying to get a frag swap going in October to try to bring in more members from the area (need to let people know we exist). It'd be a hike for you guys (4 hours), but I wanted to post it here first (outside of the Al forum).

We will be hosting the Montgomery Frag Swap in Montgomery, Alabama on October 25th, 2008. The swap will be held at the Drury Inn on the north side of the intersection of I-85 and Eastern Blvd (exit 6) in Large Room 114. Below is a link to the Drury Inn.

If you are interested in setting up a table as a vendor, please contact me via PM. There will be a $10 table charge for a 6’x 2’ table. Electricity is available at the tables (bring extension cords and outlets, just in case), but please try to stick to lower draw lighting. This will be the first swap in this area, so mark your calendars and come on out to help us make it a good one. More to follow (shortly;)).

I expect it to be small the first go round (smaller than all but maybe the very first MTRC swap), but if we can pull in 10 locals for the club, it will be a success;).

It took us about 3.5 hours to get to Chattanooga. It was a haul, but not too bad (of course, I hit Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis, too;)).

I wish you would have been having it last weekend... I was down in Ponce De Leon, FL and could have possibly stopped in. :)

Good luck!

I had other plans too. How did it go? I didn't find you all until I started looking for fuge plans on the net. Had a SW tank for 6.5 years and didn't know a club existed anywhere (let alone Chattanooga). The shops don't really want to tell you (at least ours don't) since we then start supplying each other with frags from the club and I guess buy less from them? Oh well.

It went well. We had about 50 people at the swap, and 18 names on the club interest list. I think everyone had a great time. It was small, but there was plenty going on. There will be another:).

Good! That's not too bad! We are getting some more members in our Chattanooga club too. Hard to get the word out when the LFSs don't like to support us. 5th day does support us (tells people about us), but the others don't (think we'll tell them not to shop there or something).

We have an LFS sponsor, so that should be helpful. A number of people signed up for interest in the club, so once we get a little more organized, I think it may take off (much more slowly than MTRC did, of course, but any growth is good growth:)).
