monti cap browning, what am i doing wrong

i have had my monti caps on the sand for about 6 months. so i put them about 3" higher in indirect light. they are starting to turn brown, almost like they have bleached and the skeleton is getting algae. i have 3 caps, green,purple, and brown. the green is losing color up high, the purple started to bleach, has white ridges and getting algae, and the brown is always looking good. what am i doing wrong.

my monti cap is at the top of my rockwork right under my T5's with all my other SPS...

not sure how strong your lighting is but in my tank, they like a lot of light. decent flow too, the stronger the flow in my tank and the more they grow in a scrolling form.

well i have 4 mj1200s on a time , 150 hqi and 2 90watt vho for actinic. seems the higher i go the browner they get, except for my brets purple rim it loves light
