so my plan is to take all the montipora out of my display, put them in a quarantine tank, and dip them every couple of days. i can't find bayern where i live. i currently have seachem reef dip which i don't think will work and plan to order coral rx pro from another country. so my questions are:

will the coral rx work? how long should i leave my display tank monti-less? :sad1:

i have a mccosker and ornate leopard wrasse in the display but i don't think they're interested in th nudis. should i get another wrasse like yellow coris for the display and a sixline wrasse for the monti quarantine tank? i don't wanna add the sixline into my display though. i've read these nudis are very hard to beat. please help. thank you in advance.

Coral Rx may work on the adults, but are likely to be effective on the eggs.

You can place a Halichoeres wrasse, such as silver belly or checker board, in your QT tank. It will devour on the nudie. You may need to blow the rocks and the affected corals several times a day for the fish to get them.

thanks for the link cloak. all my monti are in the qt now. i dipped all of them in the seachem reef dip today and inspected all the corals. i didn't see any nudis nor eggs. i guess little buggers are hiding. :uzi:

ok i'll find a suitable halichoeres for my qt maybe a melanurus. thank you for the input.

Just to share my experience to support this idea... I had a terrible outbreak of Nudibranch's in my tank. I could not remove my monti's because they were encrusted to rocks and some to the back of my tank. I was losing all of my monti's at a fast pace. I added a small Melanurus and within a week my monti's started to recover. It has been about 4 months and I haven't seen a single nidibranch and my monti's have all recovered and are growing at a fast pace.

thank you for sharing your experience Syntax1325. that's very encouraging. you've got awesome monti!
