the past month or two my orange monti has been developing more and more spots like this.... anyone know whats up? monti eating nudis? any good soloutions? maybe a couple sixlines? or lepord wrasse
That's not the pattern of destruction I have observed with them...they seem to start at the edge of a coral and just move inwards until all the flesh is gone.
oh great this is good news but i wont let my guard down, i used an airline and siphoned our about half a gallon while scowering the top and bottom of the colony, it didnt turn up anything suspicious
since school has gotten busy ive stoped my weekly water changes which ive used to keep my levels in check, my alk has slowly dropped from 10-9 to about 7.5. i think its time to get a doseing pump...as for phosphate i dont think that would be an issue, my tank is uber low nutrient, the only angae i have is bubble algae and the normal weekly glass slime
here is the tank- as you can see its pretty jammed for not having a Ca reactor or dosing but water changes seem to do the job.... whenever i tested in the attempt of figuring out my Alk or Ca consumption it was always the same week to week..
Not nudis, been there and like stated above thats not how they eat corals.
Looked like my montis before I hooked up my dosing pump. I was running into the same issues with alk swings. Fixed the alk swings and the coloration is returning.
