Monti versus staghorn??? Who will win

I have a undulata montipora and a green staghorn about to touch any day now. Anyone know who will win or what will happen I've always heard montis r usually the losers ... I want the stag to win ... There super encrusted so no way of me moving them etc... Thanks for the replys

The monti will winn. that is what I have experienced. a orange branching monti beating a green staghorn acro.

why not frag a bit of one or the other? you dont have to move the whole colony

if its a plating or encrusting monti, then they can co-exist. stag would grow upwards, while monti would plate ...

I have plating montis, and monti digitata growing together.

the plating, would start encrusting on the stag.
