I added this Monti a few days ago and may have gone a bit overboard with the glue, everything I added seems to be doing well but I was worried what will happen to the monti, will it continue to deteriorate or will it just look like that from where the glue was and grow over as long as water quality is good? Thanks for the help

Should be ok, is that maybe where you put your thumb/finger while gluing? Maybe you pressed a little to hard? Or is that actual glue on it? If it starts to spred then worry. But I would just leave it alone. GL

thanx, this is my first post on here. Ihave been a successful reef keeper for the past few years but only visited these forums for helpful tips/info...I figured I might as well join the community. I definitly did put my thumb there but im not sure I had glue on my thumb. I just hope it doesnt spread, I figured if thats where the glue was it will just affect that area...

Without being able to open the picture (my computer is obnoxious), if there are still some polyps that are fully intact and are still extending properly, it should be ok if left alone and allowed to grow. As TRENT_G said, if the damaged area grows, then you should worry. If this occurs, you may want to consider fragging the remaining healthy parts of the coral and try to save those.

Ok, I just got it to open. That monti looks fine to me, except that area seems to be a little crushed. Give it a few days and it should be looking better. :) If it looks worse then it's something else, possibly rapid tissue necrosis (tissue dying off/receding), in which case the whole frag could be lost unless you can frag the living parts of the coral off.

It will be fine. Most monti are fast growers, mine had burns from other SPS that were in the same bag. It healed and is now doing great.
