Montipora undata? confusa? what is it?

I found this colony at my lfs for 60$ and i couldnt pass it it up they had it labled as purple monti undata but im starting to have my doubts. it has hints of green throughout and it has the growth pattern of confusa but its had to tell with all this montis lol anyone know?

Sure does look like confusa, undata is much more smooth in texture.

Definately not Undata. This was imported as M Confusa and look pretty similar.

That actually looks like Jedi Mind Trick to me. Unless the colors in the pic are off.

The first one is definitely not the True Undata. But I have heard of people getting some strange Purple Undata morph from ORA. At first I laughed and thought people were joking around with a Idaho Grape pic. But then my buddy actually bought one. Looked kinda like that first pic. So who knows.

yeah theres the ORA purple undata that looks very similar so im very confused on what it is.. hopefully itll color up nice and we can tell better.

The texture looks exactly like Idaho Grape Montipora Undata but I've never seen it grow like that. The ones I have seen were more capricornis in pattern.

It may resemble a JMT. But the colors are not good enough. The polyps are not red enough and the base is "dirty green" if you know what I mean:rollface:
This peace is from De Jong in Holland. Imported as Montipora Laminar Pink Edge, but it looks more like a Confusa to me. Wrote wrong in my first post, was not imported as Confusa, my brain doesn't work as well as it used to

looks more like Montipora Verrucosa. if i remember right, confusa branches and verrucosa mounds and plates i believe

LOL, I don't think he wants to accept that, we've all been there, got screwed and ended up with something completely different than labled, just have to be careful and def. a learning experience for next time. Awesome piece of Confusa for 60.00 though!
