Moon Light Suggestions

Ok. With my new stand/canopy I will be able to actually mount stuff in...I'm keeping my T5's but it leaves me room since it's 24" wide to run some moon lights. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not a DIY person nor good with electrical so I prefer to buy "plug and play"

I was thinking about basically a strip that would run the length of the tank (48")

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have the same one french suggested, they work very well.
The darker your room, the better the lights look at night.

Will a fixture with no acrylic cover on the fixture be dangerous in the canopy? Should I go the route of some of the selfcontained ones and use a few. I think fade uses some like that?

I have the Ice Cap moonlights. They are "plug & play" and I just velcro'd them to the canopy. One does about a 2x2 area. They look good and tank shimmers when they're on.

the one from that pet place.com come with velcro so you can put them on existing light fixture or canopy they are a very light fixture made of plastic.

On the aquacontrollers they have a built in moonlight you can run off of the 8th position outlet. All you need is a regular outdoor socket and a small blue bulb. It will auto dim and time itself according to the moon cycles. It will cost less than 10 bucks for the bulb, socket, and a power cord.

I see on the other thread you are getting the Jr. so I would go to the neptune forum and ask if that feature is on the jr or just higher model ones.

I'm going to jump in on this thread.

Can the blue color of moonlights work like you were running actinic bulbs on your tank?

So running moonlights give your corals the blue light that they need and you get the moonlight effect.

Maybe the bulbs used for moonlight don't work like actinic florecent bubls?

I have the Ice Cap moonlight. One is for sale. Got it for freshwater planted tank, and did not like the moonlight. Used for about one month. Very good condition.

He has the aquacontroller Jr. There's no need for any of that he already has all but a bulb and cord for 5 bucks. Complete cycles AND intensity.
