Thats only 2 LEDs total 4.5 Watts.

Here's how I mounted them:

I made the acrylic domes with compressed air & a heat gun.

I have a microcontroller dimmer, but I wont install that until next year.

wow nice job stu!!!!!!!!!! those are clean looking.........while you are doing these you want a real soft dim light right????? i don't want to disturb the night time for the livestock........i hear alot of people use red since invert's dont pick it up is this true???nice link there to spook.........did bob get you squared away for vegas reefer's?

I'm not 100% convinced they don't see red at all, I have
Dimmable red lights and at very low levels the fish don't appear
to see it but if I turn the reds up then they act as if they do.
(I've also noticed this with a red flashlight).

I typically run my moonlights fairly dim (they also change intensity
with the day of the lunar cycle). It seems like when I ran it too
bright the corals and fish never really fully entered their night
time behavior.

I tend to like the pure blue look as the corals glow nicely in it,
but that is my preferance. I have also ran white before, but prefer the blue look.

As far as behavoral differances I really did not notice
a differance between the two colors.

Hope this helps.
