Moonlight

I bought a 48"Aquactinics tx5 light fixture. Unfortunately they don't come with moonlights. I know they are not needed but I like the way they look at night. Was looking at one that comes on a 48 inch strip you can also put on top of the tank but does anyone know if it could sit directly on top of the tank with out glass under it.http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/ca...=3489&osCsid=cab52f3b0bb59c855ae99adb86287e7b

I would owrry about any jumping fish hitting it and knocking it in. Its possble you or someone looking into the tank could knock it in accidently also. Sittng directly on the tank it will get full of slat build up. My lghts are 4 ches off my water and they always have slat on them. I think securng it to something and rasing a bit would be your best bet.

How could it be secured to if you don't have a canopy? Any suggestions on another moonlight to use?

Any way to secure it to your light? Any way to build some legs for it?

I have that same light and have a glass top on it. and was wondering if you could make legs for it or if you have to hang it??

I bought what is a string of blue moonlights off of the auction sight E*** and really like them. I was able to mount the however I wnated, and they were reativly cheap.
