I am wondering what does everyone run for moon lighitng? I have just upgraded to MH/VHO's from MH/PC's that had moonlights built in. I am looking for soemthing that is not real bright but will give show the corals great colors. DIY type things are ok. If you have pics along with what you have that would be great. Thanks

I run 2 PFO moon LEDs ( 3 watts each) which are attched to the bases of the mogul sockets in my hood. The results are spectacular !!! everything fluoresces like mad !!! I have yet to be able to capture the true color on camera, but everyone who has been to my place has been mesmorized by the appearance.

I run a pair of LED nightlights I got for $3 at HD and have about the same results as montrealreef.

I have 5 blue LEDs wired in parallel that run off of a variable voltage transformer from 1.5v to 12v so I am able to dim or brighten them as I like. Works really well

I have two circuits to switch between UV and Blue LEDs. My new tank will be using blue and UV cold cathode tubes for a more flood light effect. The blue CC is whiter than the usual blue LEDs, hopefully it will look fine, if not it's back to LEDs for blue.

UV is different... it's not as bright as in the first photo, it's too dim to really see anything other than the corals that light up under them. I like the effect but it doesn't allow you to see fish and other things as the brighter blue LEDs. CCs are a lot brighter though.
