They just got a state approved rate hike too!

which is why I just put all this together BTW :)

We (the city if Pittsburgh and suburbs) already have one of the absolute highest water rates in the United States. It boggles my mind that they state gave PAW the right to raise the rates again.

The funniest part is that our water is FAR CHEAPER to produce than almost ANYPLACE in the country. Most of it comes from the rivers, which are cleaner than most and/or from very clean local watersheds.

It is a 100% scam with many pockets being lined.

Are you all served by Pennsylvania American Water ? I know American is applying for some huge rate hikes in their Arizona companies.

Part of the city is served by PWSA (pittsburgh water and sewer). But MOST of us are PAW.

Amarican water is criminal in what they are doing nationwide. Good grief don't get me started.

Thats a direct result of them going from an employee owned American company to being bought out by foreign investors. I worked for American 22 years ago when it was a great company but not today. Heck I used to know the President of the company James LaFrankie on a first name basis, he even recruited me personally to work for them.

The crooks had a water main break up the street THREE TIMES and it damaged my property the last time.

The insurance adjustor said that the damage was due to heavy rain, not the water main. I even have some pictures of the water flowing out of the hillside during the break. It ran for 24 hours. There was no rain for two days before that.

Long story short, they refuse to do anything about it and basically told me that I could take them to court, as it was not their problem. The damage was not structural to my house and did not threaten the house so therefore "get bent".

Why do the honest folks never get a dime, but the insurance scammers get rich? I just wanted the hill in front of my house fixed. No money, no landscaping, just put the washed away dirt back and plant the grass they way it was.

Gotta love progress.
