More Light, clams are not to happy.

I have a 180g SPS tank that is doing fantastic, except for my squamosa clam. I've had him for about 5 years now. About 2 months ago I added to my lighting system 2-250w 20000k MH bulbs. I added those to a setup of 2 160w VHO atinics, 3-175w 10000k MH. The sps corals are doing wonderful and i'm constantly scraping coraline alge off the glass. The squamosa ever since I added the light has been rolling his edges on his mantel. Even the croceas and derasas are doing this a little bit. Should I worry, It doesn't seem to be getting better or worse. Hes a big guy too, his shell is definitly larger than football. I maintain perfect water conditions and add Iodine. I feed the tank about twice a week with esv. I'm stumped, i've never seen a clam do this? Thanks for your help!

Nitrate, Phosphate -0
calcium 400
DKH 7 to 8
temp 79

Sounds like you need to acclimate this guy. I would've thought 2 months under those lights would be enough but I guess not?

Is anything harassing the clam at all?

What type of lighting acclimation did you do. A slow acclimation over the course of a month is recommended when changing to a different kelvin mh bulb. After being under the old lighting for 5 years, the clam had produced zooxanthellae that would maximize the energy that could be gained from the wavelengths produced by those bulbs. When you change to new wavelengths the clam needs time to change its zooxanthellae populations to maximize energy consumption again. The clam also needs time to produce pigments that will reflect any possibly harmful wavelengths.

I'm thinking you guys are right. Its just going to take time for him to adjust. I also look at my tank alot at night and nothing seems to be bothering him. Thanks for info!!!
