I ordered one male/ 2 female. Received 2males/one doa female. So of course stuck w 2 males now. They are in a 90g QT right now, will move to a 72g after. They seem like friends now, but I read they become agressive.

Thoughts? Can I add females down the road? of course the females are about impossible to find...

Who did you order from? So I can learn your lesson. Planning on adding a couple of wrasse in the future.

reefs2go. Keep in mind they were half the price as everywhere else. $30 a piece. At least I'll get credit for the loss. On their behalf the 2 living males are beautiful and I think I saw them eat already. after only a few hours in the tank.

But I still need to know, if these two males will be ok together in a 72 for the long haul?

Unfortunately, I think this is going to be a wait-and-see situation for you. According to this article on Fairy wrasses, "As a general rule, never mix two males of the same species." But IME Flasher males aren't as aggressive as Fairy males, so it might just work. Are these juvenile males? Being you introduced them at the same time, I think you might be OK.

They are about 2 or 2.5" and they have their full colors so I assume not juvenile but I haven't really grasped the whole sex change thing yet. I figured they all look female until they turn male. They seem to like each other, and stay together everywhere. No aggression at all yet.

Well it took a few days before any aggression between these two. Today eating together this morning like nothing, then a mere couple hours later one got beaten by the other and I found him in a corner with the other after him. I split them up hoping for a recovery, but he got beat up good and the only place I had to move him to is another QT that was mid way through a prazi dose.

Sorry to hear. Some days you roll the dice and win, and other days.....

Hopefully you can nurse the injured one back to health and find him a new home. At least you know you're keeping the stronger of the two...

So after 2 days of teetering on the line of death... Literally I was very surprised to see him still laying on his side breathing the next day. He didn't move for 2 days. just laying on his side breathing heavy.

FF to day 3... Moving, swimming (but mostly hiding), and he ate some mysis! looks like he might make it after all. I thought he was a goner for sure.
