Most expensive Zoa/paly you have seen?

Price is whatever someone wants to put on a frag/collection to rip you off. You can pay $20 for a frag of 2-5 polyps or you can find a rock with 50 or more polyps for the same price of the same type....just depends on the seller (or in the case of what you found the con artist imho)

thats ridiculous for a few polyps. If you check back in a few years, what is impossible to get and super expensive today will be dime a dozen and worthless in a few years.

Well said, these insane prices are out there cuz somebody will pay. If people realize they the hype and all the fancy pics are all just made to take ur $$$. Then the $$$ will go down.
Also what are the LFS real cost of the "rare" stuff? Could be just the same as common green Zoa?? Hmmm

The sad part these zoas have been around since Christ was a child. Thier just getting renamed 14,573,311.2 times
I wonder if the person who buys an $800 polyp thinks, "That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! I must have that." or "Wow $800 that must mean it is special. I must buy that and hug him and love him and ...."?

First of all: the one polyp deal is a joke! Sorry.
Now, to come up up this high price per polyp is at least absurd.
If we all knew about how much crazy one is to accept that...
BUT, we still can change that. Actually, after a while, I believe that people will realize the real world around this modern fashion of prices for zoas.
Very, very sad to see what's going on.
I would imagine that a shop owner (and online too) would be ashamed of doing business like that. :sad1:
It's just unbelievable!
Plus, the deal with the wild colonies that are chopped up and glued on those white plugs to be sold for more... Well, some of them are gluing the chopped pieces on "old plugs" now, with algae, so it's not THAT evident.
It's very good to have places like RC to share our ideas because it helps the newbies to understand and pass on!
If you belong to a club/ society you can and should exchange your mini colonies and help our hobby to get over this type of stuff!

i buy mine from a guy who frags and sells. Everything i've picked up has been $10 for a frag of 20ish polyps.. some he sells for $15 for the same number. I have no problem paying that price for something.. but i would never drop 800 on a couple polyps
The highest ive seen was 2-3polyps of Nuclear Greens for 15 total.. i dunno if that is reasonable but it doesnt seem outrageous to me
