Most miserable reefing chore?

Scraping coraline off the back glass and at the sand line on the bottom. I have to stand on a step stool to reach the bottom.

Testing, and cleaning the glass/algae near the sand line (im always afraid of scratching the glass)

mines a toss up between testing and cleaning the sock i dont do either very regularly anymore like i should but at least it gets done more than water changes!! got real tired of those so i cut back to 10% every month to month and a half.
I still dose 2 part and top off water by hand everyday and neither of those bother me

the random stuff that you accidentally knock into the tank when you dont want to get your hands wet at the moment.. what a pain

5. Having my RO DI top off fail, and overflow, and wash the sump room floor. I REALLY love that. Great fun with towels and mops. Next time put a drain in the floor!
4. Having the connection between the pump and tubing to my skimmer come apart, then...see No. 1.
3. Breaking another piece off a little birdsnest by being clumsy.
2. Forgetting to put gloves on when I stick my hands into my fuge. It has been running 6 years and I have NO IDEA who is living there - I call them Creatures from the Black Lagoon - but I come out covered in red itchy blotches. (not in the main tank for some reason. ? nasty bristle worms or something).
And, number 1 of the top 10 (well, only 5) - the day the credit card statement comes. :eek1: :eek2: :bum: :love2:

How about as soon as you clean your reflectors and glass on your lights or even the tank itself and there is NOT a smudge or smear anywhere. nice wet RO rag followed by a dry one and buffed to a mirror shine with a microfiber....................................................

cleaning external pumps always annoys me, because it takes such effort to take them off line. ball valves get tough to close over the years, and the last time i cleaned my cl pump i cracked the fitting retightening it and have been living with salt creep dreading replacing that valve (plugging the 2" return on the main... annoying).
i hate changing the medium in my calcium reactor. that's a project.
and i hate the occasional complete sterilization of my RO/DI system and associated lines and tanks, if my sump room were not a stinky basement things would be easier there (it makes other things so much easier though!)
no one's mentioned fighting aips, i hate that and the battle never ends. and XENIA omg if they weren't so pretty i'd fluke tab the whole system.
hair algae blooms, they bite.
routine maintenance does not bother me. you develop habits that make water changes, carbon changes, testing become easy over time. i have no physical filter media in my current system, keeping filter socks clean always annoyed me in past systems.
