Mountain Madness - My full floor reno's with 300 gallon centrepiece.

Here is some finished pictures of the living room. I moved the old Sand Pan gas burner from the old fireplace in the other room and installed it here. This was a wood burning fireplace that was never used. Actually, I hired a gas fitter to come out and run the pipe and hook-up.

I used a grinder and roughed up the front of the old yellow marble surface of the fireplace and used some mortar and bricks to create a more modern look. I wanted all the brown, beige and yellow out. I wanted white, gray and slate colors off set by red and black accents.

I have more aquarium updates coming. I am going to do a video of my Reef Genesis Storm and Renew with the mixing station. I will show the complete system and how I have installed. I think it will be pretty cool.

This just showed up. I am adding 8 54 watt T-5 retro kits to my light rack to supplement the Radions. I think it will eliminate any shadowing as well as give the tank a nice look. Scyanith's tank looks awesome and I want to try and capture that look. I bought 8 48" ATI Blue Plus bulbs.

Here is another picture. Remember this? Well there is a house in there!

The Sequoia destroyed the two driveways. The city paid for half of the removal.

The new pacific sun Calcium Reactor looks pretty nice, and comes with its own peristaltic pump. Runs on the same "pH probe-less" system as the destaco. Probably cant go wrong with either.

You and your significant other have a serious eye for decorating and remodeling. It is extremely impressive what you have achieved. Keep up the great work, and if you want to come to California to help my wife and I decorate and pick up some amazing corals, you have an open invite!

Cheers,
Ben

That looks like quite a nice reactor. Both the DaStaCo2 and the Pac Sun are back ordered in my sizes...

Thanks for the kind words. I usually end up in LA a few times a year. Usually depends on who is playing at the Hollywood Bowl! I am contemplating a quick trip before our busy summer season begins to take in Griffiths and get some Scuba in at Catalina. Definitely not on Memorial weekend again. Did that once.
Maybe we will meet one day!

You picked a great area to go diving. Monterey and Catalina could be argued the best diving in the world. Maybe I'm biased because I live here but barring the cold the kelp forests are hard to beat.

I'll also second your decorating skills.

Edit: Nice looking dog. I always wanted to try one but unfortunately I always have GSD's. Not sure how they would work together.

Just get an acclimation box like I did for introducing my PBT to my established Achilles! Only took five days in the box followed by a mirror on the front of the tank. Now they eat from the same nori clip with manners. :D

As always things are looking great! Making some furniture out of that tree? ;) I think you will be really happy with the addition of the T5's. I like that textured wall in your bathroom, something from HD or the likes? Gorgeous pooch!

Yeah I kind of like the pooch! Just turned three.

Sequoia grows so fast the wood is useless for furniture as the rings are two big. Makes a crappy grain.

I am going to get the bulbs installed soon.

So busy working I have not had much time to be here. I just finished installing my Genesis Storm and Renew. It is quite the install and I will make up a video as it will be best shown that way.

In the meantime I put together a quick video of some iPhone video from the last few weeks.

Awesome reef and equipment!

I was wondering about your ozone generator setup. Since it deep cleans your water, I wonder if the lower skimate production is affected by using a dedicated reactor vs injecting O3 right into the skimmer. Are you seeing a difference?
