mounting a monti

This frag is on a frag disk w/ nub that goes into eggcrate. How do I mount this? Do i break off the nub and reef epoxy it? Drill a hole in my lr?

How do you all do it?

Also trying to get on frag disk of zoas to grow onto another disk-any hints?

I wondering also. I've done this, but do you have any tips to do it without draining the water down? Can you get the glue to set underwater?

I usually find a small rock that pegs into the base rock naturally. It allows you to make the glue stick like you want without draining.

This is what I did before, but I wanted to attach one to the overflow and had to drain the water down. That's the only way I could figure out to do it.

I've used a pair of pliers to break the plug away from the disc and then glue a portion of the disc to the location that I want the monti in. The portion of the disc might look normal once the monti encrusts to the surrounding rock. But if it doesn't, just pull it off and glue it to another frag plug.

Also...use the super glue gel and just put a fair amount of it on bottom of frag, swirl it around and it will begin turning opaque then I simply push the frag onto rock where I want it...done.
