Happy Thanksgiving!

In your opinion, what is the optimal depth from the water surface to mount the Tunze 6000/6100?

(this is a standard AGA 180g, so the tank height is roughly 25")

About 3-6" below the surface. This gives good surface agitation which is the most important thing flow can accomplish. It also gives good circulation below without overly disturbing the substrate.
