Moving 29 to 55 build

I have acquired a 55 gallon tank for almost nothing so I decided to move my current 29 gallon reef to the bigger tank. it will be sumpless. I have started ordering equipment and another bag of live sand for the new tank, will take pictures of the equipment as it comes in. i have also started rinsing some old live rock I have stored in the garage from an old build.

Here is my current tank: Note* skimmer has been down for a week, that's why there is algae.

Some more equipment came in today! Just waiting for my new LEDs and the pump for the auto top off.

I found my way here based on a link you provided in an LED light thread. Can you tell me about the aquastar, specifically about the timer/controller function? I want to be able to dial in the color and see that ability with the standard aquastar but I am not sure if the timer version allows that.

Tank and skimmer are in place!!! just waiting for the rest of the equipment and some more sand to come in. Getting close to moving day!

Yeah corals are the best part. I'm debating on killing a lot of my pulsing xenia on move day because they are growing like weeds everywhere in my 29. :blown:

Those and GSP would grow like weeds. I remember trimming those back all the time.

My lights are scheduled to come in tomorrow. Hope mounting them in or on top of the canopy is easy.

Mine should be here today or tomorrow as well. Wanting to hang them from the ceiling... We will see how that goes.

Last night we decided to go ahead and move the tank over. Got all the fish and coral in a container then started making the switch. I dropped our thermometer in the tank on accident so i'm stuck relying on the old heater from the 29 to keep the temp right until the new one comes in. I have one of the stick on tank ones from wal-mart so i know its within 5 degrees of 78 -_-.
