Moving 29 to 55 build

Got the new Aquastars in and I can tell you right now, the build quality on these are amazing. They blew my expectations out of the water right from the get go. They even have that shimmer effect that the high dollar Kessils brag about. My corals seem to love them as well. Not sure how they do on growth but first impressions are very good. Would recommend these to anyone as of now.

I just went through 4 of these AquaSTAR assemblies with the built-in programmable timers. Ordered 2 for my 75 gallon reef. All corals were doing very well with the lights, but the timers were off. Upon setup, both light assemblies were programmed identically. Within 2 weeks, one light assembly would turn on and off about 1.5 minutes ahead of the other. After almost a month there was a 3 minute difference between the two lights. Requested 2 replacements and they were worse. Within 3 days the lights ran about 1 minute faster than actual time. So now I have 4 of these assemblies that can't keep accurate time. Returning them and am going to have to settle for the ones without the built-in timer. Sucks because I really wanted the built-in timers.

I have the same issues with the timers getting off sync... I just reset them about once a month to the current time so its not a terrible ordeal for me.

Sorry for the late update! Well my tank was doing fine and great, I had no problem keeping the nitrates down and the HOB filter and internal skimmer were working great. I have however ran into a problem.... dinos :headwally::headwallblue: .. So in attempt to remedy this I am doing a lights out week and will be installing a Eshops sump on this tank along with Eshops skimmer to match. Will also run the return through a coralife UV sterilizer and pulling all the sand out of the tank. These things just will not go away. wish me luck
