Moving a mushroom

I have a mushroom coral that came in a shell instead of on a piece of live rock. Since the shell is round, wherever i put it, it rocks back & forth. I'd like to move it onto a rock, but it's stuck firmly to the shell. How aggressive can I be in getting it off the shell?

I would crush the shell except for where the mushroom is attached to it. Then gel super glue it to a rock. It will move if it wants if not you got rid of most of the shell and your mushroom will spread.

yep, dremel off the shell and glue it. I see you are from central ohio, you ought to check out our club www.corareef.org we also have our own forum on here two in case you did not know.
