Moving from a 125g to 180g Journey

Well that sounds like a good idea but I thought maybe I could arrange the power heads a little differently so that the sand would not pile up.

Try a different size grain for your sand bed or at least the top layer.

Does that chiller drive you nuts with the sound?

Well guys you have been asking for me to show pics of my corals.
I'll start with my newest additions to the tank.

wow that is some set up..............i love it you are really going to love the depth.this tank really looks good and is only going to get better. i am along for the ride .keep up the good work and keep the pics coming....thanks for the pics

You are so right! I love the depth and it has allowed me to add another dimension to the tank. Believe it or not the back has an opportunity as well.
The way the LR is set up it has some really good open spaces in the back. It has allowed me to place my largest corals in the middle and two back corners. A large leather that I don't want to get rid of and two branching frogspawns that so far have produce loads of babies that I keep fragging and giving away.
Another benefit is the room for the fish to swim and yet the last benefit is for the water flow which I hope keeps the tank completely dead zone free.

I'll post a pic of these sections so that you can see what I mean.
Thanks for viewing and following the ride!

One month update

One month update

Well guys its been a month and we are still a work in progress. I added 12 green chromis because I love the schooling thing. Its funny though because there were 7 in one cubical and 5 in another cubical at the LFS. They all hang out but at night the pack splits 7 on one side of the tank the other 5 in the back of the tank.

So far no ammonia spikes since the transfer. Did a wc last week and one week after the wc no off the chart parimeters.

I added a digital temp reader and notice that the actual temp in the daytime is 80.1, at night 79.1. The temp on the chiller cools the water down to 78 deg. like clock work. Interesting that the temp has a differential of 1 to 1 1/2 deg. I'll keep an eye out.

Aaptasia amemones!!! Nothing seems to work! Tried red sea, and other brands, they don't seem to work. So for this problem I added 10 pistol shrimps. So far three days and all five visable aa are still alive.

How long should I give them before going the copperband butterfly route?

Anyhow one of you guys said that since I was adding a lot of corals that I should post a FTS.
My white balance is still not measuring I feel correctly because it strips away most of the blue color from the tank and a 180g without a really true wideangle lense has its challenges.
Let me know what you guys think.

Thank you Ritten. I've been told that our systems are ever evolving and as the corals continue to grow so will the aquascape. I hope to keep as much of the current feel and look of it as my corals grow.
Wow, do you ever have a knack for envisioning the big picture with your aquascaping. Just gorgeous!
