I will be moving thiscoming week and wanted to know, What would be the best way of moving corals, fish, rocks, water etc..?? In what containers?? Do I need all my water?? Thanks for you input...

Get as many rubbermaid containers as you need to fit all of you water, rock, corals, etc. You can have one for just corals, one for fish with some pvc pieces for them to hide in. If you need a hand I might be able to come...depending on when you are moving.

Hey Joey.. Ryan is right on. I moved about six months ago. As Ryan said, I used one Rubbermaid container for my fish, one for corals and a few others for the LR. I moved my sand in four five gallon buckets. I only kept about 10% of my water, the rest was freshly made.

My main issue was that I underestimated the time it would take to move the tank. I thought I could do it in about 6 hours, but it took me ALL day. From about 6AM until 8PM.

Joey,
I have 4 or 5 5gal water jugs w/lids, like you borrow from the LFS when you get water from them. You can borrow them if you need to. Let me know. It may cost you an AOG polyp though. LOL

I have 100ga and 300ga rubbermaid that is not being used right now. Let me know if you need them.

Just got home from work...

Ryan, your help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks
Boydx, I can definately take you up on that offer...Thanks
The Hawk'ster, those might be too heavy for me to move, being that I live on the second floor now...Thanks
Mflamb, making up the water would have to wait till I move right?? Or do u mean make it up now, and take it with me??

Thanks everyone for your input...and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My 55gal, My 210gal Im moving also but that ones empty. LMK, if your gonna be around the area tomorrow, I can always use a hand moving the 210.

LMAO...wardworld you can help me setup...LMAO. Im moving from Tampa across from HardRock Casino to Lakeland on Banana Rd.

That's about 5 min. from my house...do you have an estimated time when you'd be arriving in Lakeland...I've got to help another guy move around 6 p.m. - must be that time of year :)
I'll PM you my cell (my son might be around to help).
P.S. I'll only do this if you'll help me w/ my upcoming set up of my 120 - maybe this coming weekend :)

When are you moving the 55, and where to? When are you moving the 210? I have to work tomorrow but I might be off early and be able to get over there.

The 55gal, I might be doing late tomorrow night, the 210gal I'll be moving tomorrow afternoon, Thanks Ryan.

i went to my lfs and bought like 5 dollars worth of bags the big ones. and it was helpful with delicate corals. i think its the easiest and safest . the rubber made is good for liverock but can be tough on people with alot of corals . just my 2 cents.

markandkristen, thanks alot...I already have some bags so I guess I can attempt that. With my zoas I'll probably put them all in a tupperware or small container. Thanks again.
