Well as previously stated I will be moving to Gainesville next weekend. I realize that Gainesville isn't Tampa, but it's only a 1 1/2 hour commute so I figure why not? I currently have 2, 20Gal clownfish tanks, both in their infant stages. I have been doing FW tanks for most of my life, but I am more of a newbie to the SW world. I tried it once about 2 years ago and it ended painfully and expensively in about 3 months time.
Luckily my 55Gal is sitting in storage in Gainesville and what was going to be an arrowana tank, will probably turn into the new home for my onyx percs. Once I get there I plan on trying the DIY LR that I found on this website, and will also begin construction on the "meat and potatos" of the plumbing work. Do keep in mind though that even with my GI bill from 5 years in the Navy, and having a full time job, that money is tight so my projects tend to take a little longer than the average reefer. Of coarse the 1 year old has alot to do with that as well
.
All is good though as my second 20 gallon is actually my wife's 20 gallon which was obtained via a late night Wally-World run shortly after going to the LFS for a Tomato mate and returning home with 2 Onyx Percs....it happens. Funny thing is she went out the next day and bought $125 of LR and LS for the thing. I wasn't expecting that but what am I going to tell her? "No honey you can't spend that much money on setting up your tank." That certainly wasn't going to fly after I spent about that much on my decorations.
That's enough ramblings for now. I hope to get to know some of you guys and gals and hope that I can actually attend a meeting in the upcoming months.
