Moving Zoas/Palys

Hi, I am only 1 month into the reefing hobby and I am wondering the best way to move zoas/palys from a frag rock to my actually rockscape? I need to know the best way to remove them and then the best way to attach them to the scape.

Normally people take the frag and glue the piece to the rock and let the zoas continue growing.

I may do that but I am trying to keep my aquascape as close to it is now as possible. I come from FW aquascaping so I am trying to make it look as clean as possible in the finished product.

If they covered the whole rock then I suggest you just glue the rock instead of peeling them off, but if they're just covering a part of it then cut the part of the rock that isn't covered with them and glue that on. Being the size of a golf ball is small as it is so it won't be that noticeable anyways and when the zoas grow they'll cover that and move on to your landscape so you won't even be able to see the original frag rock.

So in the future should I only buy zoas on frag plugs/discs and not colonies to place them where I personally want?

Thanks for the help btw Reefer & Ali.
