MP 10 & MP 40 Help!

I got some sand in my MP 10 and it seized up, I wrecked it trying to pull it apart. I bought a replacement wetside from BRS and got it in 2 days ago. It had some oil on it so I ran it in a small 10G for a while... Seized up in 7 minutes. Don't want to mess with it so I don't snap it like I did the first axle. Should I try soaking in vinegar, doesn't spin at all and I can't pull the rotor and magnet off? Sent emails to Vortech and BRS...

Just looked at my tank and noticed the flow was real low , and noticed the MP40 wasn't spinning. Looked at the controller and it's flashing stall... Pulled out the wet side and touched the rotor.. Axle was broke.

When it rains it pours... Now Im down to about 750GPH from my return in my 150G DT.

#1 does anyone have a MP10 or 40 wetside I can borrow or buy?
#2 Do I pop for another mp40 wetside ($75) or move on to something else?

I'm hoping the new seized mp10 wetside will get replaced.

Both are 14-15 months old...

Found the parts on EcoTech's site, probably will only cost me $3 for a new axle... I have a mixed reef, not a lot of sps (Monti and 2 mili frags) can I go a few days with just my return flow?

No need to buy more replacement parts. Send an e-mail to EcoTech explaining the situation; they'll get you taken care of.

PS- In the mean time, a Maxijet 1200 will go a long way as a temporary solution.

I also have a spare Maxi-Jet 1200 you are welcome to borrow. With a couple of them in your tank, you'll be just fine while you wait. Don 't know where you are, but Gary and I are both on the West side of town.

Thx for the offers guys! Cory lent me the 40 wet side (with option to buy) until I figure out what happened. Going to work with Ecotech and see what they have to say. Spacers were set correctly.

Matt
