Mp40 or Mp60 - need the clubs advice

Black friday is coming up and im looking for flow for a 210gallon (7foot) tank.

Those who have experience, would two MP60s (imagine not at full power) work better or 2x MP40s

Im personally imagining that two MP60s is better because you can run them at 50% (just guessing) which means same electric bill but quieter running as the MP40s on full.

But i really dont know how much flow these truly give out. Also note im ONLY planing on having two power heads.

If you want 2 and it's a 7ft tank I'd say MP60s. I have 4 MP40s on a 6 ft tank and I use a bunch of modes and intensities up to 88% and could probably use more flow at times.

Was just about to ask, do you have Bare bottom tank? Also i should note this is a peninsula tank. So there going to be room on both sides of the rock. *what you would consider front and back of the tank. Its why really my options are two....at least for now. Im always happy to buy more but i DONT want to upgrade.

Nope. I have sand. I have 2 MP40s on each side. The ones towards the back are a bit higher than the ones in the front. I don't think I have enough posts to post pictures or I'd add one.

I have 4 MP40s of a 6ft long 150. Two on each end. Personally I would not do less and am considering adding another in center back. If only 2 I would think the MP60s are your best bet.

If all of your flow will be from one end, you might consider one of the large gyre pumps up top to push water to the far end and back around, then 2 mp40s or mp60s down in the mid-low section to create chaotic flow out in the middle.

I run 1 60 at each end of my 7 ft and 3 40s across the back.

It seems like with the MPs you always need more. I have 2 mp 40 on 3 foot tank. And I been playing with the flow. To get full effect on the EcoSmart programs they use three. I didn’t know last time tidal swell and nts mode is a 2.5 hour long program.

For the price of 2 MP60's it may be worth looking into a closed loop with a controllable pump like a Cor20.

Looks like its two MP60 for now. Im really hoping there will be a Friday deal however im looking at the past years and Ecotech doesnt seem to care about blackfriday
