mp40 placement

I have a 110 that is 31" tall. Right now both my mp40 are about midway down on the glass. I have mostly sps. Is there any benefit to running closer to the surface? In a few months some of my acros are going to be right in front of the mp. Should I just move it up a couple inches to allow that growth?

I moved my wp up to cause more surface agitation, lowered co2 and raised my ph to correct levels.

I have a good amount of flow. Mp40x2 mp10x1 tunze wavebox. I get curious cause all the really nice old tanks have the pumps closer to the surface.

I had 2 mp10s on opposing sides in my 40b and when I moved the pumps to the surface the sps didn't have as much polyp extension as they did when the pumps were a wee bit under center.
