mp40

where is the best place to place an mp40 and what setting is the best for sps?
i have a 90 gallon with a corner over flow on the left side.

Add the second to the other end. I like reef crest mode. You can try syncing to see if you like it. I have three with one in the middle back glass. I currently have 2 synced up and one on its own, but I like having them not synced most of the time. Even more random.

Do you have the ability to control the mp40 throughout the day via controller or constant access to it? I only ask because you could change the setting through the day...i like lagoon at night, then duing the dawn/dusk use reefcrest to simulate the tides coming in/out, then nutrient transport during the day when the fish are more active.

really depends on the layout of your rock work, I have mine setup on the left (opposite of my overflow) with a mp10 on the back, and an mp10 ( soon to be switched to an mp40) on the right. All 3 pumps are in reefcrest. Mine aren't exactly facing each other, they are offset hitting open water columns around my rock work. However over time some corals have started to grow into direct flow.

I wish I could afford 2 more mp40 for my tank. 2 is not enough for my 120, will probably add 2 modded tunze nano.

Best places to put them IMO is one on each side centered.

how is that?

IMO it's a good spot if the polyps are moving and not getting blasted directly. Take your time and mess around with it here and there.

would i be better putting the tunze on the same side? and i moved the pump to the center and higher so it shots over the rock work

Try it, I would put the tunze higher than the vortech. The vortech has wide flow and the tunze is a bit more direct.

okay so now where should i have them setup? is this good?

should i bring the right one down and more to the front? like the left side or is it okay to have one pulled to the front and the other pushed to the back.
