I have the first generation MP40w. It is problaby 4 months old but I just started using 2 weeks ago. It worked fine for the first week or so. Then at about 2 weeks it started with the inconsistent speed. It will run full blast for about 10 min. then slow all the way down for about 10 min. then it start the cylce all over. It stays doing this all day. I know that I have it in the contant speed mode because the light on the controller stays green at all times, whether it slows down or is in the middle of changing speeds. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

This sounds as if the pump may be hitting it's preemptive thermal slow down. Check to see if the pin spacer is properlly installed and that it is not rubbing upon the dry side magnet. If you see that any pins are bent, this could explain your problem.

Hi, took this pump apart and looks just like it did when new. Pin spacers and all were good. Put it back together and it started flowrate change in constant mode not 10 min. after putting it back together. I also want to mention when I bought my MP40 when they first came out (not the wireless wave model) the wetside magnet disc looked brand new, when I got the MP40W the magent disc on it already had some rust on it. Shouldn't a brand new one have no rust at all? Please let me know what I need to do to get this resolved. Thank you very much.

Hi grandp10,

In light of the situation I think it is best if you send your pump in. Please fill out the following form and send it with your pump to the address provided on the form:

Also, the discoloration on the magnets when new is not rust, it is just a result of the manufacturing process. We now also have fully plastic encapsulated magnets which can be added to any pump and never require replacement.
