MP40WES - update the QWD Driver

Has anyone done this? What kind of results did you have? I have 4 MP40wes and was thinking about this, but was told unless you did the motors as well really did not make sense in the upgrade. If I was to do the driver and motor, I would think I should just buy new drives.

Honestly my MP40wes are not that loud to begin with. maybe in the beginning but now don't really hear them and don't run them 100% anyway.

I just upgraded my drivers only and its night and day how quiet they are now

I don't really notice an increase in power. I did the upgrade for the noise reduction and it was money well spent.

Upgrading just the driver and using the older wet/dry sides will not increase the power. I know the literature is a little confusing. The entire new MP40wQD is more powerful.

That being said, whatever they did with the driver to make them run silent even with older wet/dry parts is magic.

I was very skeptical when I did my MP60WES since they only offered the driver and no wet or dry side upgrades. I went ahead and did it anyway and could not be happier! The only negative issue with my MP60 was the noise it moved the water in my 165 with no problem and I only ran it at abou 60% however prior the the upgrade it was very noisy the constant whine had me looking for different options and I tried a GYRE nice pump but no where near as powerful as my MP60. If you are unhappy with any of you MP series pumps due to noise this is the absolute best investment you could make Good luck hope this helps

I did this also, much quieter after the upgrade on my MP40
