Thumbs up on this tank ! I've always wanted a dedicated NPS tank.

I have a brand new 2 gallon Fluval Spec aquarium sitting unused in a closet. AIO with rear chamber sump for filtration. I'm thinking of getting my modest collection of NPS polyps out of my mixed display, and don't really want to keep a fresh water Betta which many do with this little aquarium. Would this work long term?

No skimmer, but water changes would be easy. I have the ATO figured out. The non-reef lighting won't be a problem obviously. I think I can keep it stable.

Any downsides? Too small? Do you think a small in-tank circulation pump is needed, or will the internal pumps provide enough flow for Suns, Dendros & perhaps a Tube anemone in the sand?

Thanks. Hope hou don't mind jumping on your work for inspiration.

Hi, sorry for late reply. I think 2 gal. NPS is very doable, If it was me, I would do half a galon WC every day and once a week large, perhaps even full tank change. Make sure parameters are the same ( temp, SG, etc.) It will be easier to feed smaller tank, as food concentration would be higher in small volume. Sun corals and dendros need bigger meaty foods like mysic, brine shrimp, etc., I spot feed mine every other day, but I also broadcast finer particle foods couple of times every day. As far as flow, not sure it stock pump would be enough, if your corals will open up then it is fine, but if not, more flow is needed. Tube anemone might be too big in 2 gal. tank, theirs tentacles get long, even smaller sized anemones. Might sting other corals. I say go ahead and try it. It is fascinating to have small tank full of life :)

absolutely gorgeous! tagging along :)
Thank you
Wow! Beautiful tank. Those large dendros in the middle really stand out.
Thank you, had those Dendros for almost five years, started with 3 heads, now split it two colonies total of 19 heads.
Awesome!!
Thanks
I really love this tank, well done!
Thank you
Stunning! Looks absolutely killer :)
Thank you

Beautiful tank - and inspiring! Would love to move my sun coral to a NPS tank, as it is hard to keep the tank spotless feeding it 5 to 6 times a week.

Nice tank. I really love how the yellow just pops and the minimalist style is spot on. I like how the filter fades into the shadow so you hardly see it.

Mark, I love the Tank! I Saw your feeding regimen and was wondering if you were doing anything special for the blueberry or just doing the same as you are for the menella? mine passed quickly at home but in my tank at work ( piece from the same colony) it has been doing well with a focus of oyster feast and fish milt (along with the other foods the tank is fed). any general guidelines that you've seen to find work well for them?

My blueberry still going strong, although its been only about 2.5 months. I just feed the hell out of this tank few times a day with all kinds of food, small and bigger . I did lose my electric scallop though. Everything else is still happy. I have new resident fish in it now, will take pictures when is less shy. I am working on getting my Elos 120XL set up as quickly as possible ( most likely will get wet in a month), it will be a deepwater biotope with NPS corals and deepwater Anthias, so when ready this little tank will be taken down and corals transferred to new Elos.

Teaser picture of up coming deepwater Elos
