Algae will be too scared to grow on the tank since all Cena has to do is glare at any that dares try to grow.

LOL

do you have any info on who built the tank ? also are you guys friends helping set up or do you have a LFS that is helping with the build/install ? man what a monster . oh and the tank is huge too

Mystic Marine Life Built the tank as well as the setup. Ray and Rob the owners are really nice guys.

Me personally I am a local web guy living in Tampa with a flavor for saltwater tanks. I was asked to make a thread on their behalf. I have also been a member here on RC for a while and love the plethora of information one can obtain from one place. So many of you all have contributed to the ideas of many reefers around the world. Viva La Reef Central!!! lol

As for the tank it is in the process of being plumbed right now, more pics to come!!!!

Ian, it is going to be a Reef tank.

Reeferfriendly, Mystic Marine Life is a LFS that is just outside of Tampa. They have both fresh and saltwater fish etc. etc. They do maintenance on tanks as well as full setups. If you like, click on the link I provided for the address and go check them out.

We were just waiting for more of a finished product. Ray has been working hard on the Schedule 80 plumbing.

Tank Size H 72 x L 84 x W 32

The tank has 2 Hammer head Reeflo pumps and 1 Dart running to a Sump in the closet.

Sump Size H 36 x L 36 x W 18

Skimmer is an ETSS Downdraft Super Skimmer rated at around 2000 gallons.

Is that outside diameter or inside measurements

Yes those are the outside measurements which equals about 837.8 gallons but the Acrylic is 1 and 3/4 inches thick so I took off the 37.8 gallons and call it 800 even lol.

The sump equals 101 gallons so with the plumbing and all filled with water the total system volume will be around 880 to 900 if I had to guess.

The Stand is a custom made 4 inch square tube extruded aluminum and is 24 inches tall. Light weight yet solid as a rock.

Nice and thick acrylic. Makes me feel good about mine, I picked 1.5" thick for the panel but my panel is not as high.

I think the tank come out to 680.3 once you measure inside.
Inside would:
Tank Length = 80.5 inches
Tank Width = 28.5 inches
Tank Height = 68.5 inches

Tank volume is calculated as
Tank Volume = 680.3 Gallons

Not that is matters, my current tank was sold to me using outside diameters which makes it alot bigger that it really is.

I was just checking the size on this one because my tank I am building is a little longer that this one and I thought I was at 815gallons.
I will be watching this thread more than other tank builds as it is close to mine.

It's amazing how much water volume you lose from the thickness of the acrylic. I think we all just assumed it was outside measurement . I guess I will have to double check.

Wowsers, that is gonna be a monster tank...Can't wait to see it finished and up and running...

I will definitely be following the build on this thread...makes my little 55g look so tiny...

Now ya gotta talk him into letting us see it in person once it's up and running...ya know, charge a little "donation" fee to go to one of the charities he's always helping out...hey, I like that he's from the area and is involved in giving back...I'd totally pay to see the tank and meet him...
