Mr Miyagi bleaching

I got this coral about a month ago and noticed yesterday that it is starting to bleach from the bottom up? can someone tell me what is causing this?

My tank is a 150g mixed reef with the few other SPS in the tank growing just fine. Tank has been up for 3 years and is very stable with CA 400-420 via a CaRx, SG 1.026, Alk 8.5, Phos .04, Nitrates 0, temp is 78 managed via a chiller.

I have 4 AI Sols which run ~ 65% at peak, this coral is up near the top of the tank ...

Looks like RTN to me. Not enough flow can be a cause of rtn from the base up.
Are you seeing the polyps move around?

sorry for my ignorance but what is RTN? No they are not moving around ... I can certainly move them to a higher flow area ....

RTN = Rapid Tissue Necrosis; Can usually wipe a colony out in a day or 2. While STN (Slow Tissue Necrosis) takes longer.
Myself, I would cut the frag above where the tissue has been lost and perform a Lugols dip.

RTN = rapid tissue necrosis... Tissue falls off the coral quickly. You actually ha e STN, slow .....

Move to higher flow, acros need a lot of mixed flow. You may want to frag the coral where there is healthy tissue or try super gluing the coral at the stn spot. I've had success with both methods.

I'd do a dip in Lugol's iodine once a day until I see reversal of STN. This way you may not need to frag and can hopefully save the coral.

The tips look very pale to me. This suggests too much light, too soon.
An iodine dip may work, but it looks too far gone to me.

Did you stick it straight up where it is, or did you start the frag low down?
Or maybe it is directly under a led puck?

Given everything else is stable, I think this is light shock related…..

no, I had it down on the sandbed for the 1st week and then moved it up ...

I use 40 drops per gallon or 10 drops per liter. I found success with 30 minute dips.
