MRC-2-R Skimmer F/S w/pumps!

MRC2-recirculating skimmer for sale including a blueline 55 hd pump and mag 7 feed pump $450 obo. Its 14 months old and in great shape. I think this skmmer will work on a tank up to 500 gallons.

I am selling this for a friend of mine up here in Madison so I don't know if I can get pics. I have seen it in person though and its in good shape. I will be in town this coming weekend for the Downtown Pets Swap if anybody is interested in it.

That is for the regular MR-2 not the recirculating version. I still can't figure out the difference though between the standard and recirculating. Anyone?

Thanks Evolley, yeah the recirculating model is siginificantly more expensive because it has an additional beckett injector and more reaction space. The recirculating feature can be configured a couple of different ways but one way is run a main, low pressure feed into the skimmer and use a pressure pump to recirculate and drive the injector. The other way I have seen them set up is to have one beckett running recirc and one with the feed pump. That way, fresh water is being fed at lower pressure through the supply becket and recirc water (ostensibly cleaner at this point) is being stripped through the other beckett via the pressure pump. Either way, this skimmer is high-efficeny for sure and rated for 500+ gallons.

I think the retail on it as my friend has it speced is around 600.00 plus (as you noted Oblivious) and a little less than 300 for the pumps. So the total retail is actually closer to 900 than 950.

Anyway, a great skimmer for the price!

Ahh I dont....I asked my friend to send me one, so far he hasnt. I am going to pick up the skimmer tomorrow so perhaps I can post a pic then. I will also be able to offer more specifics as to how its plumbed (for sure), extras etc.

I saw it briefly and didn't notice any kind of damage/repairs or significant wear FWIW.
