I have a dual injector MRC-2 skimmer using the recommended Gen-X PCX55 pump and yesterday after my water change it started acting crazy.
If I shut both air valves so it produces no foam I can get the water level to stay at the 1" above the skimmer box level in the first riser. I let it sit like this for 20 minutes to make sure the level didn't change. After opening the air valves it starts foaming all the way to the top till it falls over the collection cup and then the foam comes crashing down. Then it foams up to the top again and crashes down. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.
I have had this skimmer for over a year and I have never witnessed this behavior before. Anybody have any ideas why the water level will stay constant but once I add the air the foam level bounces around drastically?
