I like the BL pressure pump. I had PCX 55 and I went to unplug it for cleaning the skimmer and when I went to plug it back in it was deader that a doornail......nothing. I got the blueline pressure rated for like 1180 gph. I love the bluelines, quite, runs cooler. I seen some of you take off the 90 elbow that is on top of the beckett and run straight into it with no elbow.....Is this a popular upgrade to do ??? If so HOW the heck to you get it off the beckett when its glue to the beckett ??

This got buried pretty quick I was wondering if anyone thinks the Blueline Velocity pumps would work good to drive a beckett?

I beleive the T3 is a pressure rated pump.

I had a T4 and it was silent, and transfered less heat to tank than my PCX 40, IMO

Only problem was cleaning the pump.

That sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth. The line from your pump still has to come straight down to go into the beckett. Whether it be with an elbow, or a big looping piece of hose, I don't think the gain would be too much at all.

I'm not sure of the difference it made because I did it before I even knew how to adjust my skimmer. I don't know why I raised my beckett off of the black box either.

The reason I did it is because each time I see bomber talking about setting up beckett skimmers, the first thing he says is to go straight into the beckett.

First I took a piece 1" spaflex and zip tied it into the tightest circle I could for a few days while I was waiting for my piece to come in.

I ordered this from Andy:

beckettpart2je.jpg

I took a piece of 1" pipe and glued it into the top, then I got a 1" coupler and glued it onto to 1" pipe.

All I did when the glue was dried was glue the spaflex into the coupler, then connected the other side of the spaflex to a coupler and into my existing piece.

NoSchwag , well I guess I was gonna ask you if you liked its preformance better this way....but you said you skimmer was'nt tuned in right.....I should just probley opt for the standard hookup unless anyone else "LOVES" the performance better when you get rid of the 90. thanx all.

MR2 for sale

MR2 for sale

I know we're not supposed to sell here, but I don't have 50 posts, and can't start a new thread in the selling area.

Trying to sell my MR2 dual injector with quick release in the SoCal Inland Empire area (Temecula area). Pickup only, no delivery/shipping. Also included would be the PCX-55HP pump I bought with it. Both are fairly new, and have had about 4 months of actual use. They are both in great working condition. The only thing to mention about the skimmer is that the notorious pvc ring that holds the injectors together is cracked in both injectors. As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, a piece of schedule 40 (or was it 80) 1" pvc will fit this perfectly. I just used 3 zip ties cranked down tight around the old rings, and it works just fine. Been sitting in my garage for about 6 months now. I'd like $300, but will consider lower offers if I am unable to get this. If you're interested, I'll also throw in a 2 3/4" SCWDs that have had about six months of use also for free. Here's a pic:

I'd be happy to post any additional info/pics upon request.

Thanks,
Mathias

mathias999us, you might be better off taking 10 minutes and responding to 20 more posts, then start a thread in the for sale forum. You'll get much more exposure there, or see if there is a reef club in your area in the 'reef club section' and post it in there.

Try running 2 PCX-40 one for each injector. Works wonders on my dual.

I love the preformance i am getting from my sequence hammerhead pump. I use it for the return to my 300 gallon tank as well as to run 2 beckets and still have a by pass for the remain flow it generates. I kept a genX pump for a back up incase i ever have problems, but this way the whole system is runing on one pump, less power, less space, less noise.

I currently run 2 pumps, a Gen X 55HP and a Quiet One 6000 for the return, what Sequence pump would you recommend to run 1 beckett, and generate a return of about 900 GPH through 1 inch tubing with 4 feet of head pressure? I am wondering if I should go with a Dart or a Barracuda, but I am a little concerned because they aren't pressure rated as high as the Gen X is.

dart puts out 3600 GPH or something like that, so i would think it would easily push one becket and have 900 gph left over. Its not pressure rated, but still I would think it could handle it, only a guess though

ya but its flow curve drops REAL fast plus you need to use 1.5 inch or even better 2 inch PVC.

Your going to need a bigger Seq if you want to do your plan.

Bond is that waste collector home made or one of MRC?

Homemade.

I would think the 1000 series would be a fine choice. The top out at 20-24 feet head.

The dart tops out at 12 feet

If it where Andy's I would say it is a little rough but since it is DIY Nice Job. The fact I had to ask is a complement.

mrc?

mrc?

i am starting a 120 sps with barebottom. would a mrc2 w/dual becketts and the quick disconnect which raises the overall height like 2.5 inches run with a pcx55hp be sufficient?

I run my 120 SPS BB with a single beckett and pcx55..

If I had to do it over again, I would skip the quick disconnect.
