The "quick disconnect" is a cop out to the Euroreef crowd. The holes are keyholed and it takes like 5 seconds to take the cup off the "slow" way.

Not only that, (which is very true) but I find it hard to get the torque required to take it off.. Not to mention the gallons of water I lost all over my floor because of the "O" ring.

If it where Andy's I would say it is a little rough but since it is DIY Nice Job. The fact I had to ask is a complement.

Sweet, thanks man. I should have made it larger, but then there would be more risk skimming wet like i am.

It's a converted MR-4, hence the black acrylic. It's 6" shorter than an MR-6 but 8" taller than an MR-4.

Let her rip already ! I want to see sludge ...........

Hey Joe, Andy forgot to send the other end of my union on the output. :( I picked up another one, but the threading doesn't match up, so I have to wait for the part from Andy.

I should have everything else plumbed up tonight so it's ready to go when the part arrives. :)

Very nice Ereefic!!! So it seems like only me and you have bit the bullet and gone with the new recirculating model? Your gonna love that skimmer man. Mine pulls out so much crap and I only have one fish and feed every other day. Somtimes i dont even know where its all coming from! lol.

I didn't, Sir Andy did. This skimmer was on his 'specials' page (actually still is, but marked sold) and was his own personal skimmer. He converted it to the recirculating for me.

its kinda underpowered, but works fine. im using a panworld 100px pressure pump. im thinking about getting a stronger pump like a panworld 150ps for christmas possibly :)

Well, I jimmy rigged the output and fired it up and it is breaking in now. Hopefully it won't take to long to get going as it has alot of work to do. :)
