im running an iwaki 55rlt with dual beckett on i havent installed it but i have all the parts ready to go like the raisers which it will 5 inch to clear the sump so... what do you think is this good the skimmer will be in sump

The skimmer is designed to be in or out of sump. If you put it in the sump, just don't have a lot of water over the outlet so it doesn't keep back pressure which in turn keeps your water level higher in the skimmer and then you can't fine tune properly or I should say not as much adjustment.
The pump you have is suggested for the skimmer you have. Yes you will be fine, you just may have to raise the skimmer a little depending on the depth of the water.

oh cool thanks i will be working on it pulling my old skimmer out and see if how these monster work is there anything else i can upgrade or anything that i need to change thanks for the infos

Do you have a pic of your skimmer.

Prior to raising the becketts:

Peter you need to put a tee between the becketts so you will have balance water flow ,having water coming end one side makes it not balance.

I realize it is not balanced due to my plumbing. However, it also made no difference when I raised the water level in the skimmer. Water came out of both valves.

Anybody have a suggestion for a fitting to get ozone into the MRC ozone tee? I can not find a way to go from the 1/8" airline tubing into the 1/2" adaptor without it dissolving because of the ozone. Any ideas?

Depends on the height of your skimmer.

so... What do you mean???? (sorry kinda new here) the height of my skimmer is in stock but I have to raise the the Beckett to clear the sump so I can adjust it! Is that fine I have an iwaki 55rlt that will be running it I have a double Beckett too... I raised it about 5 inches to clear the lip of the sump thanks

If you look close you can see the smallfitting I used for the ozone where I adjust my bubble rate. I will also post a link to the piece. A. 1/4" Male Thread to 1/4" Quick Fit Elbow I just slipped the ozone tube into it.http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4395+12097&pcatid=12097

Wow Ive been using mine for over a year with no problems. Have you tried to contact someone from MRC about it? I live 15 minutes from there and talk with Raj all the time. He is also our president of the Atlanta Reef Club.

Is that 1" pipe? I am running a Mag 12 into a MRC-1 thru 1" and MRC told me it was OK but not optimal. Running an 18 into a 1" split...

Still, if you are getting tons of crap out. How big is the tank and load?

I have tried using those JG fittings. They melt after about a month of use.

I couldn't find an ozone safe version, so I just bought a bulk pack of 1/4" MPT to barb fittings that attach the O3 line to the sch80 ozone "port" you buy from MRC. I replace them about once every six months (or sooner if they melt) :)

Sorry, I should have been more clear. It depends on the height of the water level in your skimmer, not the height of your skimmer, per se. After adding a riser, I closed the gate valve on the skimmer enough so that the water level inside the body of the skimmer was well above the becketts. With the GenX 55 pump I use, this was too much pressure from the body of water in the skimmer for the becketts to suck in air, so I had to raise the becketts.
