I recently upgraded from a 85G total system to just around 300g total system.
I have a MRC2 with one beckett right now. Currently running on a BL 40X i have a Gen x pcx 55hp that i use to run on the skimmer sitting around. According to mrc website its rated up to 300g but i like to double what it is rated for.
My question is should i just add on to my current one or would i be better just buying a new skimmer and buying a new one? If adding on should i just do a body riser or add another beckett or both? Adding a riser and/or a 2nd beckett would i need a new pump as well?

I would do an additional becket, a riser, and a tarpin or bigger reeflo pump.
You mean the needle valve? You close it all the way and you still get bubbles in the skimmer?

Are you running the older style becketts (non screw top)?
Yeah, that's the old style. Basically, you have air leaking in through the joint where the acrylic halves meet. Try rapping plumbers tape around that joint, as well as on the threads on the valves before you screw it in. IIRC (I use to have the old style) this will help.

I've got an MR2 skimmer with two injectors and riser extension running on a Reeflo Marlin Pump. I can't seen to get the main column to be full of bubbles. It has bubbles in it and you can not see through it, but I've seen others with the same skimmer have the main column look so white that it lools like it's full of milk. What could be wrong?

Ok so I have a MRC2 with duel becketts and what look slike the new valves with the silencers but missing just the end cap piece so my question is what is under there and how does it all look I can buy the caps and fabricate them myself don't really feel like paying $25 each for what I am pretty sure is just a cap with some foam. Also I am thinking of adding a Ozone port that just connects between the valve and the beckett correct?

I have an mrc 2 skimmer with a gen-x pcx 70 external pump running it. Pumps water from under my 300 gallon tank rhu the wall and up about 7 feet to the skimmer in my utility room. I have 2 inch drain line with a gate valve on it for the return back to the sump. I have a filter sock I use to keep the air bubbles from going into the main tank at the end of the return hose. My problem is that every time I turn the skimmer on it overflows and eventually settles back down over a course of 1 minute or so. WHY is this doing this. Seems like I never get a constant water level in the skimmer and it has flooded the room many times now. Any help would be great as at this time I can only run it while I am home to monitor it and baby it. Look at my homepage and I have pictures of my skimmer setup. PLEASE NEED HELP thanks
