I HEART BUILD THREADS!!!
TRUEBLACKPERCULA,
why not just purchase a replacement needle valve.. I believe that part is pretty much a stock item (or can be easily DIY'd) with parts from USPlastics.com...
(unlike the injector housing, which is completely custom in every way.. )
IAMWHATIAM...
My assessment that damage was caused by some use other than intended is based on having the non recirculating version of this exact skimmer.. (MR2 with dual beckett injectors) and I can tell you that after I set it up over a year ago, I have not yet touched the injectors more than one time a month (and then only to adjust the needle valve). there is no reason that any forces would be used on the injectors that would justify 1/8" cast acrylic tube become damaged..
I've seen people using the valve intersection with the injector as a "gripping point" to tighten the injector into the base box. (not saying that you did this)
you purchased the skimmer (display model) at a discount - I assure you that if you had a bill of sale and HAD purchased either directly from MRC or in any manner that they could track your purchase, they would make any possible "design flaw" a full and complete repair.. (discounted at a minimum)
How old is the unit? (1-2 years? 6?) that, will also come into play...
and for the record...
$115 is a fair price for the full injector assembly
RGIBSON,
yes, I work about 20 minutes from their building
