hey, if your bringing stuff... can I have another one of those xenia frags you were selling at the frag swap? it's not the regular xenia, but it had a bluish/graying tint?? :)

I think I've got a big enough piece to do that with. Main problem might be the rock it's on. I'll try to check tonight.

I've got a foxface I can bring if anyone wants it. I bought for $35, will sell for $20 or trade. it's the length of my middle finger. LMK. I won't bring if no one wants it

hello everyone. i'm david campbell of atlantis aquariums here in montgomery, i plan on trying to come on sunday. could anyone let me know what to expect( should i bring pictures or something?) talk later.

Pictures would be great conversation pieces. We'll have some sort of light food and some soft drinks.

Just a warning, my SPS tank has no rock in it right now. I'm working on an algae eradication in that tank (dichtoya, grape vine caulerpa, some sort of brown encrusting algae, and some sort of brown egg noodle type algae-I held off as long as I could), so no rock for a few weeks so I can remove as much algae as possible before introducing more rock. Before I get everything hooked up, I want to make sure I've gotten all of the algae...

You can bring pics of your setups, plus any frags/corals you want to try to sell or trade. There will like be a fair amount of stuff brought by attendees, and Gary has a ton of acans and other corals and frags for sale.

you mean bring the actual frags or pictures of? if actual frags, will many be bringing them and if so are they put in a display tank temporarily for viewing? it does sound so enteresting.

If you can, bring the actual frags in bags for trading/selling at the meeting. Pictures of setups and tankscapes are good, too.

It was great seeing a few new faces. Thabnks for all who came (and Mike and Linda coming all the way from Opelika). This thing is taking off:). For those that were not able to make it tonight, I'll have some updates in an email soon. We've got to work on elections, etc., so we can work on benefits, etc.

i had a really good time at the meeting. seeing all those smokin hot corals has inspired me to beef up my livestock. maybe someday we can have the meeting at my place. of course i would always be willing to trade as well.
someone mentioned today about having to order stuff online. one thing i am trying to do is have dry goods, food as well as livestock at catalog or online prices. and i would like to know when they are not. just let me know the kind of things you guys need on a regular basis and i will try to keep them in stock( bulbs, foods, suppliments)
see you guys at the next meeting.

The meeting was great, really enjoyed seeing everyone and aquiring some new frags. Learned some things that I am going to try on my system to help me out. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves and I will be spreading the word that the club is on the ground running. Hope to see everyone and more at the next meeting. Thanks Gary and Will for the great frags. A special thanks to Jennifer for bring such a great hostess!

We forgot to raffle off the Current USA retro's (single 24" with actinic bulb)... We can do that next time, I guess. I forgot all about it...

slacker.......

it's not like you had anything on your mind the first swap....j/k

better late than never :lmao:

Hello all...

looks like I will be hosting the next MRC meeting. Will be on Sunday, January 25th. time TBA later, probably around the 2pmish time frame. It was great seeing all of you at Gary's house, hope all of you can make this meeting.

We will be discussing the nomination of officers, getting the club officially formed, and our next frag swap (which Gary wants to have in the March/April time fram). So, put this date on your calendar and I hope all of you can attend!

Happy Holidays :)

Hello
I live in Montgomery and am really glad to see someone forming a club here. I was thinking Atlanta or Huntsville were the closest areas.
Do you have a website or anything? I would love some info if possible?
My name is Matt and I have a 90 gallon you can see by clicking on the redhouse. No SPS yet but it's coming along. I would love to meet some fellow local reefers.

welcome Matt!!

no, we don't have a website, but are in search of a local person who has great webdesign skills and can do one for us :)

The LFS in Montgomery, Aquarium Fantasies, is a sponsor of ours. He set up two tables at our last swap in oct and hopefully he'll be back! We are moving our annual swap to the mar/april due to fall/winter being so hectic. It will hopefully be at the Drury Inn again....they have been so accomodating to us!

tentatively at the next meeting (at my house), we will elect officers, talk about the swap more, talk about forming and joining the club, club dues, etc....you would find out alot about our club, meet more fellow reefers if you could join us. Even though I live in Millbrook, I'm only 2 miles off the interstate. I really hope you can join us!! :)

Julie
