Can anyone please tell me if this is the same as the Kent kalkwasser that i am currently using? I've heard it mentioned before and heard it is alot cheaper. Does anyone know where to find this stuff? Is there a wholesaler that i might be able to pick it up locally at? I'm out of kalk and money! Thanks alot

I use pickle lime and it helps keep a stable CA reading. I found it at local store but can also be found online. Look in the canning isle for it.

I've been using Mrs. Wages for a few months now. I drip it with a dosing pump and it seems to do great. My Calc and Alk, along with PH stay stable. I ordered mine from CanningPantry.com for about $3 for a 1lb container.

I get mine from the local (mom & pop) grocery. It is a seasonal item so you may have to hunt. Wal Mart has it sometimes.;)

I got mine at Walmart. It's real cheap. I think they may have it out now. It's the same stuff as the Kent. It's food grade pickling lime.

thanks for the info. Should i used the same 1 tbsp per gal. that i do with kent?

Yes, use it the same as the Kent stuff. It's the same thing except for the container and the price. If you can't find any around you let me know. I will send you some for $3.00 a 1 pound can plus cost of shipping. I'm pretty sure that is what I paid for it. I can spare 4 cans. That will leave me 4 which is plenty since I use a CA reactor now and don't use the pickling lime much.

What you can do is purchase a case of Mrs. Wages. Take out half of the bottles, remove the labels and write, "Kalk" on them. Folks will shell out big money for "Kalk".
